Doug Cosner | Founder & Vice President

Doug Cosner is the founder and co-owner of TEAM DDS. With over 40 years of experience dedicated to constructing dental and medical environments, he began as a self-taught plumber and cabinetmaker. Over the years, he’s been described as an artisan who built a detailed driven specialized construction business - hence the “DDS” in our company name. Doug has always excelled in the ability, after interviewing a client, to envision the ideal floor plan for a space to maximize efficiency, productivity, and usage. He firmly believes that a “consumer beware” policy is a bad business approach. Instead, Doug’s legacy is building a business that keeps the client’s best interests in mind, while striving to inform and educate the doctors about their spaces’ growth potential and pitfalls.

With his first dental office construction project, Doug’s eyes were opened to the field’s complex requirements regarding plumbing, workflow and traffic patterns, ergonomics and space needs. He has refined his business model to ensure quality control, excellent craftsmanship and customer service while at the same time controlling costs.

Knowledge, experience and affordability are important, as Doug says, “If you needed a root canal and had the choice of going to a general practice dentist or an endodontist for the same price, which would you pick?” This is how Doug approaches his business and works to provide clients with high-quality environments, on time and on budget, that will be functional today, handsome tomorrow and ever reflect their personality and tastes.

Experience within the dental industry is key to accomplishing these objectives. Therefore, his TEAM DDS staff consists of licensed electricians and plumbers, NFPA 99c certified medical gas installers and cabinetmakers who work exclusively with this industry.

Doug built a company and a team that is dedicated to and highly respected by TEAM DDS’ extensive book of business - over 350 dentists, Central Ohio Dental equipment suppliers, and students at The Ohio State University Dental School. All at TEAM DDS maintain his commitment to bettering the dental field by participating in study groups, Paragon, and the Dental Network Group; organizations committed to education and networking with current and aspiring doctors.
